ENVIRONMENT: BRP Road Products are designed to be friendly to the environment.
We must all embrace practices with the aim of achieving long-term sustainability. We recognise the role, improved road maintenance and road maintenance practise has on reducing unnecessary emissions and social costs.
Sustainability: We target zero waste in all our operations from manufacturing to distribution. We constantly review best practise which minimises the production of waste. In all applications BRP Products are designed for zero wastage. Sheets are cut to size and off-cuts are used on the next project. The storage life of the product is in excess of nine years.
Emissions: Manufacturing is undertaken in a factory controlled environment. Heating, blending and production are all controlled to minimise emissions.
On site BRP Road products need no equipment or machinery which would produce emissions to support their installation. BRP Road Maintenance and Traffic Calming Products are designed to optimise performance of the roading network including reducing interruption to the road user, this has a significant impact on reducing traffic emissions relating to traffic congestion and delays.
Site Management: BRP prefabricated products are cold applied, emulsion is applied as a tack-coat or adhesive layer to bond the product to the base, be it base-course, asphalt, concrete or paving blocks. This minimises the opportunity for spillages or damage to the environment through operator error or accident.
