Equipment

  • Knife and block brush if cracksealing is to be done as a pre-treatment
  • Broom
  • Squeegee
  • Spade / Shovel

Materials Required

  • 600ml water per 30kg bag.
  • Stable grade 60% anionic emulsion or local equivalent for tack coat purposes (appliation rate 0,75L/m2 for BRP Crackseal Strips).

Application Procedure

  • Specialised equipment is not required. Application is simple and good results can be achieved with minimal experience.
  • Preferably use a squeegee for application but a hand broom may be used.
  • Open bag and add 600ml of water per 30kg bag. Mix the water in well with the contents of the bag using a shovel or spade.
  • Certain areas may benefit from or require two applications of BRP Quick Pave. Ideally each application should be 7-8mm but not exceeding 12mm in depth.
  • A wet hessian sack passed over the freshly laid BRP Quick Pave evens the texture and improves the finished appearance.
  • The rate of application per 30kg bag is determined by the condition of the existing surface as well as the layer thickness, however on average, one could expect to cover approximately 2,5m2 per bag.
  • BRP Quick Pave is "dry" in approximately one hour although curing time is very dependent on weather conditions and will be somewhat variable with changes in climatic conditions.
  • Application is not recommended in inclement weather.
  • Slurry is not suited for application where it will be subjected to inherent movement in the base layers.
  • Clean tools immediately after use, any hard material can easily be removed with solvents such as petrol or paraffin.

Health and Safety

BRP Quick Pave is non-flammable and non-hazardous and can be easily removed from skin using soap and water or commercially available hand cleaners.

Packaging and Storage

BRP Quick Pave’s standard bag size is 30kg and stores well for up to 6 months in unopened or undamaged bags.
